Against the backdrop of the major wave of Italian migration to the Canary Islands in the late 2010s, this project explores Tenerife not just as a tourist destination, but as the archetype of "Paradise on Earth." The stylistic choice to use only a 14mm wide-angle lens is narrative before it is technical: it serves to convey the overwhelming grandeur of nature and that "daydream" feeling. The breadth of the frame symbolizes the infinite possibilities that Italians saw in these lands: the hope for a fresh start, and the warmth of a safe haven.
